Overview of Project
Speedpro Civil played a key role in delivering major concrete works for the Melbourne Intermodal Terminal in Somerton, showcasing our capability in managing high-volume concrete pours, complex reinforcement, and critical scheduling.
Scope of Works:
- Successfully poured 84 post-tensioned base slabs, placing over 67,497 m³ of concrete, with an average slab size of 2,000 m² at 340mm depth.
- Completed extensive night shift operations, with pour placements commencing as early as 1:00 AM, ensuring project timelines were met with minimal disruption.
- Delivered complex rail-mounted gantry beams, placing a further 6,779.2 m³ of concrete to support critical infrastructure.
- Constructed an 8 megalitre Stormwater Detention Tank, which consisted of base slab construction, off-form concrete walls and hollow core plank stitching screeds; the project included the installation of 93.5 tonnes of reinforcement and placement of 1,117.2 m³ of concrete.
