Overview of Project
John Holland oversaw the completion of a complex project for the LXRA. The scope included forming, reinforcing, and pouring footings for a canopy flyover, walkways, light poles, and architectural precast elements. Four prefabricated building base slabs, along with associated support upstands, were formed, reinforced, and poured. Precast panels were installed on walkway ramps. Base slabs for paving were formed, reinforced, and poured. Existing platform walls were strengthened. Over 1,000m³ of stabilised sand was used for backfilling. Over 250 coping stones were installed and grouted. The project was completed within a 44-day full occupation despite presenting challenging design, weather, and ground conditions. Notably, 4.8m high walls were constructed, and due to time constraints, ultra-high-strength concrete was used, enabling stripping and backfilling (with nearly 600m³ of stabilised sand) within 24 hours.
