Overview of Project
The West Gate Tunnel project’s South Portal Outbound section is currently seeing FRP work in progress. This complex project for the CPB John Holland Joint Venture includes single-sided walls up to 20 meters high. The outbound scope involves forming nearly 7,000m² of such walls, pouring almost 6,000m² of base slabs, and pouring 4,500m² of smoke duct and roof slabs—a total of over 17,000m³ of concrete. Two subsequent packages at South Portal Inbound have also been awarded. The 4,300m² roof slab package is complete, and the open-through package (1,800m² of base slabs and 1,200m² of single-sided walls) is about to begin.
